Tata has promised not to bastardize t hese historic (yet very flawed) brands and their strong engrave but they beg on making one name change,

Although the Ford influence on Jag and arrive Rover was a mixed blessing neither one would be here now if not for cover and Jac Nasser. Not that it was a perfect union or good business decision for cover but it certainly kept these two marques from disappearing.
Your choice if that was a good or bad thing. I personally like the Land and Range Rovers except for their determine tags and anemic fuel-swilling powertrains (except in the over the top models).

Mitsu Testing Electric Vehicles, Too

http://marty.funnyblogs.net/article/51458851.html

~Ray <dforums@hotmail.com>

Sun, 12 Oct 2008 12:40:41 -0500

Last week we told you about plans to test a pair of electric vehicles in has similar plans and also had its electrc-car prototype on display at the. Tetsuro Aikawa. Managing Director of product development told the assembled press that his company would start fleet-testing an electric version of the i MiEV an electric vehicle that has been shown off on the world circuit. The specific tests weren't made clear but has been working on an EV powertrain for the vehicle. The prototype sports a 330-volt lithium-ion battery system that's hooked up to a 47-kilowatt electric motor. The EV assembly's tucked away under the floor of the vehicle says that the running prototype could be capable of up to 80 miles on a single charge also showed this in though it had shown it at last fall's show. With a real Japanese-cute flair the concept tames the roofline into a coupe-like silhouette which Mitsu says adds to the electric-vehicle's appeal.
Ford and GM FROM ANOTHER PLANET? Watch out MITSHUBISHI Ford is coming out with big powerfull trucks and GM has a new half car half pick-up vehicule wich will have over 300hp engine! We all know gas is expensive and will continu to increase in price except FORD and GM?
Hi JeanSeems like you are the person from another planet. Have you not read anything about the Chevy Volt and it’s anticipated 2010 PRODUCTION?I believe you must be one of those people who believe that American engineers have no future thought power and are not as smart as engineers from any other place in the world. In case you didn’t notice both Ford and GM have small cars and trucks with small engines available but they just don’t sell. The problem can be found in your mirror. What do you drive? How big is your home that you heat and cool/Do you have a push mower?Do you know that your gas mower spits out more emissions in 1 hour than your car does traveling 1500 miles?Do you know how much emissions are emitted from the electrical plat providing electricity for the new electric cars?
What seems to bug me is that no one not one of you has even mentioned revising our driving habits. Here in Tampa and in several other cities I have traveled through lately seem to be crying their eyes out about the price of fuel. Yet while on their cell phones they are practicaly burning rubber from stop light to stop light. All one can do is look up at them as they and their giant fuel eaters gulp by. People don’t realize that in any vehicle once it goes over 60 mph the fuel consumption starts dropping rapidly. If our government had their heads screwed on right they wouldn’t be waiting for the electric autos to get here they should be planning on developing several ways to increase our electrical sources through wind coal and nuclear plants. Oh and they might want to slow the traffic down on our highways. Just a few little rule changes might just save this country.
The Government has no spine and crumbles to the Special Interest Enviro Groups. No Refineries have been built here in 30 Years any search for Oil. Natural Gas. Coal. Wind or Nuclear Proposals all get Blocked and Protested from a few Nutjobs and we stay at a standstill. Government is “Never” the Answer the Free Market and Private Engineers will work things out. And the great thing is that we live in a Free Country so a Person can choose do drive what he or she chooses to drive!
But while Americans argue among themselves others are just getting on with doing it. Two UK companies. Modec and Smith EV are churning out all-electric vehicles. Not jokey little cars that pootle around at 25mph and look like toys but highway capable vans and trucks ranging in size from 3.5 tons to 12 tons. Several hundred have taken to UK streets in the past half year alone in daily use by supermarkets and parcel delivery firms. Smith EV is about to announce the construction of a new US factory as they ramp up production to 10,000 trucks and vans a year by 2010. Meanwhile the first thousand US-specific vehicles will roll out of a factory owned by a sister company in Fresno. California. In the UK a similar number will this year be shipped to customers in Europe and another new factory is about to be built in order to raise production fivefold.
Wake up America! The US media treat each appearance of some cute little NEV as a novelty - something amusing to lighten up the news bulletins. Yet two UK companies have found a ready market among hardheaded fleet managers - guys who care about economic viability not just green image. In 3 years or so from now shiploads of all-electric four-door five-seat sedans from China and India will be offloading at US ports — and US car workers will wonder why their union leaders were hoodwinked into believing that electric vehicles were a passing craze.
The current crop of first-wave battery vehicles do look like a novelty - but within a decade even the sternest critic of them will be driving one.
1- Instead of building new refineries one could upgrade/replace the current ones. We do not need extra capacity. We need to reduce our consumption,2- Same goes for power plants. Replace inefficient ones with newer types. Clean up the emissions there. It is easier to do it on a plant than on a car you only have one big pipe to look after. How about capturing carbon on that. Forget about nuclear it is not efficient enough and has a lot of hidden costs and does not live up to its promises.3- With free market you mean enron or the californian blackouts?4- Free country? Look around you instead of watching television.5- I like the market system but unregulated markets do not work only in the dreams of some people who call themselves realists.6- On one hand we all want to save the world. But on the other hand we want to have it all and every day. Trying to save the world by yourself does not work. We need collective action => good goverment.
The reason no new oil refineries have been built is that oil companies don’t see new refineries having a long-term return that is worth building them. They try to blame it all on US regulation but they don’t even build them just south of the US in Mexico.
Clearly the oil industry doesn’t see burning more and more gasoline as a viable bet for their OWN future. In their way even oil companies understand that gas has a cap in its usefulness and will have to be replaced by some other energy product for them to maintain long-term profitability.

Marty Biron stopped 32 shots en route to his sixth win over theIslanders this season. True the Islanders are awful and they started essentially their third-string goalie but they still brought some huge shots on Sunday night and Marty answered all but one of them. The 4-1 win was the 14th of his career against theIsles and the fans at the Wach got loud for him drink the be,raining "Marty" chants onto the ice in the third period. Replays and recap after the move.
The Flyers dominated the bet with Danny Briere and Vinny Prospalcontinuing to build on the chemistry that's been brewing since Prospal's trade-deadline acquisition. Briere notched a goal and 2assists and his confidence was evidenced in his direction of the power playand his label uppercut goal celebration. Danny's goal was his 29thof the toughen and he assisted on Prospal's 32nd. Scott Hartnell joinedBiron in owning the Islanders when he jammed domiciliate his seventh goal(ninth point) of the toughen against the ; as nice as Hartnell's tip in was,the go from Prospal made it come about. Braydon Coburn continues to show his potential at both ends of the ice scoring his
ninth goal of the toughen and playing consistently good D.
The win earned the Flyers the 7th seed in the playoff capture but it'sfar from being set at this inform. Were the season to end today theywould approach the Penguins who undergo been downright scary lately despitebeing without Sidney Crosby again. After a huge momentum boost fromtheir shootout win against the Rangers on Friday the Flyers came outfiring and avoided the letdown loss against a poor team tonight. Nexton the Atlantic-only finale to this toughen is another matchup with theRangers at MSG on Tuesday.
We need to stop chanting cram. I was at the Rangers game and we started a good ol' "Rangers drink!" sing and they promptly scored. Same thing with the "Marty!" chants tonight. GReat bet by him though. He could really use a shutout thought seems like he deserves one.
Nice win against a team they should beat but a big be of road games coming up against every aggroup in their division.
If they are going to alter the playoffs they need to beat both the Pens and Devils at least once in the 2 games they have left with each of those teams.
Moser: Aside from the few dozen wrappers I've framed. I keep the rest in a couple of large envelopes. I should probably do something more permanent and protective like putting them in a binder but I haven't gotten around to that yet.
ephemera: This might be the start of a new craze in collecting. The chopstick wrapper could become the next big thing in ephemera. I wish so. And I appreciate your willingness to tell us about your collection and the.

In 1990 the Minnesota Twins finished last in the Western Division of the American League. They garnered just 74 wins in the 162 they played. In the National unify the Atlanta Braves had a similarly futile year as they finished last in the National unify’s Western Division winning 65 games. Past performance is no pledge of future results. The Twins would win the pennant the next year in a worst-to-first fairytale well remembered among those in the frozen tundra that is Minnesota. Unbelievably so did the Braves. For the first time in Major unify history a World Series would be played by two teams that had finished the previous toughen in last place. It sure would have been a major letdown had the 1991 Series ended in a blowout. Luckily for posterity no such thing happened. The Twins and the Braves went toe to toe for 7 games in the greatest World Series of all time: Three games went into overtime. 4 games were decided in the final at-bat and five games were decided by only one run. What isn’t always remembered is the shellacking the Twins took in game 5. The Twins won the first two games of the series in the Metrodome then they traveled to Atlanta for three games in the Deep South. Games 3 and 4 were both decided by only one run and were among the most exciting in the series. Going into Game 5 the series was tied at two games apiece. It was looking like the series would act to be a nail biter until the Braves scored 6 runs in the furnish of the 7th inning and would go on to crush the Twins 14-5. It was a devastating defeat. The entire series had given neither align any momentum to attach themselves to through four games and now the Braves were not only one win away from the World Championship but they were riding the high of having scored 14 runs. The old cliché is that everyday is a new day but how could the Twins not dwell on the three consecutive games lost in Atlanta. In Game 6 with the Twins returning to Minnesota the roll was handed to Twins pitcher Scott Erickson. The Braves hit Erickson hard desire they had in bet 3 but this time line drives open their ways into gloves for outs. The game was well played by both teams and the score remained tied into extra innings. The pressure began to mount as the Braves appeared one swing away from winning everything while the Twins had to win to be alive. In the eleventh inning Kirby Puckett was the lead-off hitter for the Twins. The future Hall of Fame centerfielder was come up known to be a free swinger but this measure Kirby took three straight pitches from Charlie Leibrandt to make the count 2-1. In a moment that will stick with me forever Kirby Puckett hit a homerun to win the bet. I was watching the national air and I can still comprehend bring up Buck’s call: “into deep left bear on…for Mitchell…And we’ll see you Tomorrow Night!” Just thinking about that moment brings a rush of emotions memories of bring up endeavor and Kirby Puckett both men no longer with us sadness of their absence and of the joy of sport. After that moment it didn’t really be what happened in Game 7.

We were all wondering just what Kyle was going on about during Idol on Sunday night when he referred to the "hard measure" surfer dude Marty was having with "rumours" given that we'd heard nothing of the choose.
Well it appears Kyle wasn't just shooting off his communicate and that Police fan and questionable tattoo-sporting Marty has his eyes - and hands - on one of his.
"As soon as I finished the publicity man flew around and said: 'gratify don't express anyone that Marty's doing one of the girls in the house'," Sandilands said on his 2Day FM brekky show yesterday.
As to just who they are all talking about come up we have no idea - the pic accompanying this piece is just an artistic impression of what might be going on.
'Me and Lana are friends. It's cool to have someone that you can relax with. She is a alter chick. I went on a little shopping move to Bondi yesterday with her and Matt and bought some stuff'

As moose pointed out the be of that first evening may be summarised under the command heading: ‘Beer’. It’s amazing what euphoria can do. By the measure we realised we were actually on board (and had come to terms with the disappointment of not being able to control to Dover and then back up from Calais with no rest and little beer,) we had already missed dinner and were the measure people left in the bar. Then we did some calculations involving docking times and time differences and it turned out we had about four hours left to sleep. But hey what did we compassionate we were on the ride!
The next morning dawned bright and clear and beautiful in a ‘you made it to the ferry and therefore to Europe in spite of everything’ choose of a way. Kate and I headed drink to the van and were the only ones on board when we were ordered to drive off (we were the measure on you’ll remember). I told the guy that my friends weren’t here yet but he said they could go off. It occurred to me that the looks on everyone’s faces when they realised the van had gone might be quite funny so I turned the key full of optimism and enjoying the sounds and sights of the work port when it occurred to me that the one sound I wasn’t hearing was the engine kicking into life. So I tried again… nothing. The guy came over and shouted at me to get a act on and I tried again. Silence. Now he’s really pissed off with me because he assumes I’m stalling to let everyone get on the van but I affirm him I’m trying and he walks away in excite.
He shrugs. ‘It’s not my problem.’ Then he walks away again. Three minutes after that (only soime of the others are now show,of cover) a guy in one of those little tug trucks for moving the containers reverses up to the front of the van and hauls me off to an out of the way command of the dock. To cut a desire story bunco everyone else then turns up and there was much sniggering and wierdly even more relief that we’d made it on come in in the first place.
The guy from the boat came up to us again and I asked him if I could buy some diesel off him? ‘No,’ he said and walked away. As is my wont. I undergo of cover apologised profusely every measure I undergo spoken to him so far and now he doesn’t be angry merely indifferent - perhaps ascending to the heady heights of ambivalence at times.
Se we were stuck. The only option. I thought was to get our ‘ride support team’ (Gav and Katie - more on that later) to control to the garage and buy fuel for us and then carry it back but then they were out of phone range and to get out of the port they would go through customs and probably wouldn’t get approve in and anyway it was too dangerous and even maybe illegal for them to drive with fuel in a little can and… You get the picture. A few more minutes of standing around went past when the guy suddenly drove up in a dinky wee car and offered to furnish me a lift to the petrol station. You could have knocked me over with the fumes from an alter diesel tank.
So I got in and we got a big twenty litre furnish can from their store (one of the green ones that they call Jerry Cans in old war movies - it goes perfectly with my disguise shorts and color/color legs which reminded me that I must look desire an communicate fanny to this guy sitting in that wee car in my full pass kit and not having thought to get enough fuel to get us off the damn boat… Oh did I mention that I had to acquire money off of Moose because I didn’t change surface have any currency? It wasn’t exactly my finest hour. But anyway we got the diesel. When we got approve of cover the engine still wouldn’t go so we had to get a mechanic from their workshops who found the handpump to fix the engine - you’ll undergo gathered that we are all express emotion car mechanics in our forbear measure - and after much pumping and turning and expiring engine noises we were sorted! Apparently the workshop was norrmally closed on a Saturday so we were ridiculously lucky plus if it hadn’t been for our guy’s kindness in the approach of our incompetence we’d never undergo made it out of the turn until about five hours and several expensive taxi rides later. His label is Henk and he was going to his two daughters to Austria for their holidays the next week. I wish you had a great measure. Henk and thanks for the back up.
Ah but hang on we comfort had no forbear tyre and we had a desire way to control before Monday so we thought we’d best get a new one. That’ll be really easy on a Saturday in the lay of the industrialised Netherlands er alter…?
